About Me

Susane Trevisan

My name is Susane Trevisan.

My professional journey began in 2017 when I graduated in Food Engineering from the University of Campinas. During my undergraduate studies, I had the unique opportunity to live in Canada as an exchange student through the Brazilian government program called Science without Borders.

My passion for science ignited when I worked on my first scientific project involving membrane filtration under the supervision of Dr. Mariana Machado and Dr. Miriam Hubinger at the University of Campinas. In Canada, I had the wonderful opportunity to be supervised by Dr. Martin Scanlon on a research project involving membrane filtration to separate alfalfa proteins.

Upon my return to Brazil, I joined the food industry and worked in Research and Development, but my passion for science was stronger. In 2019, I returned to Canada to pursue my master’s degree in food science at the University of Manitoba. After obtaining my degree, I worked as a research assistant in Dr. Filiz Koksel’s team, where I conducted various research experiments in different research projects. This experience ignited my desire to pursue a PhD, which I am currently undertaking.
